Nacogdoches County has a new tool in locating the source of emergency calls faster. Now when a dispatcher receives a 911 call they'll have a map come up diagramming the physical location of the call. Before there was only an address.
The map helps dispatchers know where help is needed. Dispatcher Charlie Weaver explained, "It's a great tool to help us when someone doesn't know the exact address or have great directions. You can go in here and zoom in on the maps of the areas that there's a 911 phone call out. These black dots are houses, so it can kinda help us."
