A celebration took place Wednesday afternoon at Lufkin's Memorial Hospital.
That's where Hospice in the Pines held an open house to mark the grand opening of it's in-patient center.
The new facility offers five patient rooms plus a family room for patients who may need more care than their own home will allow.
"Oftentimes patients are sick in the hospital, maybe don't have a place to go home to, or their symptoms are a little too severe to try and control in the home. So this is a place where we can do that in more of a hospital setting." said Dr. Sid Roberts.
