The Day After The Storm

It didn't take long for Thursday's storm to come and go, but fixing the damage it left behind is a different story.

Many homes, including the ones on Martha Street in Lufkin, remained in the dark well after things dried up.

Bob Brown of TXU Electric Delivery said, "When the weather first hit, we had about 18,000 customers out; from up around Laneville, Texas, all the way to Diboll."

About a thousand homes and businesses were still without electricity Friday morning, but by the afternoon, most power had been restored.

"We're not [going to] quit until it's done. We've got some employees that have worked very safely and they're dedicated to getting our customers' lights back on."

Power outages weren't the only type of storm damage reported. There were also fallen trees, shattered windows, and flooded streets to deal with all across East Texas.
