Former Oilers coach undergoes triple bypass surgery
HOUSTON (AP) _ Doctors say 81-year-old ex-Houston Oilers coach
Bum Phillips should make a full recovery from heart surgery.
Phillips, who lives on his horse ranch in Goliad, was
transferred by ambulance to Houston after having chest pains.

Hospital says doctors did triple bypass surgery Friday on Phillips
after discovering blockage in his arteries.
No evidence of heart damage was found.
Phillips, who recently had some symptoms of heart problems, was

Phillips coached the Oilers from 1975-80 and became an icon in

Phillips then coached the New Orleans Saints from 1981 to 1985,
