LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

Jorvorskie Lane has been a busy man over the past several months. Tuesday, the former Panther and ex-NFL fullback will be in Lufkin helping kids get ready for school.

Since leaving the NFL, Lane has been focused on giving back to the Lufkin community. From football camps, supply giveaways to even hosting this year's Juneteenth festivities, Lane has been trying to spread the message of staying positive and working hard to the younger generation.

On Tuesday, Lane will give back once again. According to Lane's Facebook page, Lane will be giving out school supplies at Jones Park from 4-6 p.m. Lane was in Lufkin Monday to pick up supplies that had been donated by Walmart:

We feel very special in the Lane of Hope right now!!! Walmart put a smile on our face bright as the summer's sun!!!! We just want to take the time out to send a very special thank you to Walmart of Lufkin, Tx!!!! We appreciate you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!

At the annual Juneteenth celebration, Lane explained why he does what he does for the community.

"I deal with the youth a lot and the youth is our future," Lane said. "My son is here, my cousins and my friends and it is important for me to show them the new look," Lane said. "i just turned 30 years old. I went to college and played professional sports and now I am moving into another area of my life. With my leadership role and the people I surround myself with, they thought it was important I come in and help."
