ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Texas Rangers and Angelina County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested two brothers Tuesday in connection to allegations that they assaulted a man in Rivercrest back in March and left him with multiple skull fractures.
Benny Lee Tubbs, 26, and Pouchie O. Tubbs, 18, both of Lufkin, were each booked into the Angelina County Jail on a felony aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury charge Tuesday. Both men were released from the jail Wednesday after they posted unspecified bail amounts.
According to a press release from the sheriff's office the case is still under investigation by the Texas Rangers and the ACSO's Criminal Investigation Division.
The ACSO arrest report states that deputies were dispatched out to check out a disturbance on Cimaron Road on March 29. When they got to the scene, Benny Tubbs told them he'd had a disagreement with a neighbor, but that everything was OK.
At that point, the victim came to the fence and started yelling at Benny Tubbs, the report states. He was bleeding from his nose and face, and he had a laceration on his head.
The victim was taken to a Lufkin hospital. However, because he had multiple skull fractures, he was transferred to a Tyler hospital for treatment.
