ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A 59-year-old Huntington man's bail amount has been set at $150,000 in the wake of a shooting incident that occurred on Faye Jones Road near Huntington Saturday. The man was arrested after he allegedly shot his neighbor in in the back with bird shot.
Henry Dale Plummer is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a second-degree aggravated assault charge and a third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon charge. Collectively, his bail amount has been set at $150,000.
Capt. Alton Lenderman said the initial 911 call about a possible shooting came in at 12:37 p.m. Saturday. ACSO deputies found Bryan Craig Ybarguen, the 38-year-old victim walking down Faye Jones Road, and he told them he'd been shot.
When the deputies spoke to Plummer, he was cooperative with them. He said that after he mowed his yard, he went to sleep. Plummer woke up to the sound of Ybarguen yelling, Lenderman said.
Lenderman said Plummer shot Ybarguen in the back with bird shot.
The incident was the latest in a series of ongoing problems between the two neighbors, Lenderman said.
"You can't just shoot someone just because they come on your property," Lenderman said. "You have to be in fear for your life."
Ybarguen was transported to CHI St. Luke's Memorial Hospital in Lufkin for treatment of his injuries.
