Sheriff: Diboll woman arrested on warrants had meth hidden in privates

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - After a 35-year-old Diboll woman was arrested on outstanding warrants for bail jumping and driving while intoxicated, she removed a small plastic bag containing meth from her private area Monday morning, according to Sheriff Greg Sanches.

Melissa Michelle Natoli was booked in to the Angelina County Jail on third-degree felony tampering with or destroying evidence, third-degree prohibited substance in a correctional facility, and state-jail felony possession of a controlled substance. She was also charged with the two outstanding warrants for bail jumping-failure to appear and DWI.

According to a post on Angelina County Sheriff Greg Sanches' Facebook page, an Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputy was patrolling the area of Loop 287 and FM 841 when he saw the driver of a Honda passenger car fail to signal lane change and drive in a single lane.

After the deputy made contact with Natoli, the driver of the car, dispatch told him that she had outstanding warrants for bail jumping and DWI. He arrested her for the outstanding warrants and started an inventory of the vehicle.

The ACSO deputy found numerous items of drug paraphernalia in the truck of the Honda, the Facebook post stated. Before he took Natoli to the jail, he asked her she had anything illegal on her person, and she allegedly said no.

"Once Natoli was transported to the jail, a strip search was conducted due to the drug paraphernalia that was located in Natoli's vehicle," the Facebook post stated. "During the strip search, Natoli removed a small plastic baggie from her genital area that contained methamphetamine."

A correctional officer at the county jail saw Natoli try to destroy the meth and recovered the plastic bag from her, the Facebook post stated.
