NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The wait continues, to propose a speed limit change on State Highway 7 between Nacogdoches and Center to the state highway commission.
The speed limit is currently 75 miles per hour.
Residents and motorists who use the high accident road have petitioned for a slower speed limit following a serious crash that left Cason Snider unable to walk.
After several reviews by Texas Department of Transportation engineers, the agency is recommending to commissioners that the speed be reduced to 65 miles per hour.
A route re-evaluation was requested, which means the issue didn't make the July agenda.
The request may be heard in August.
If approved new speed limit signs could go up in September.
