NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department have arrested one of four suspects who robbed a man and woman at gunpoint at the Verge apartment complex late Monday night.

Kyondreh Isaiah Brooks, 17, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a first-degree aggravated robbery charge. No bail amount has been set on the charge.

According to the arrest affidavit East Texas News obtained Friday, a Nacogdoches detective responded to a report of a robbery that occurred at the Verge apartment complex in the 1600 block of Cardinal Street late Monday night.

The victims, a man and a woman, told the NPD detective that while they were sitting in a car at that location, they were approached and robbed at gunpoint by at least two men. The man was assaulted during the robbery, and he was injured, the affidavit stated.

After the Nacogdoches PD detective viewed surveillance videos from several locations, he was able to find footage of the four suspects. He identified three of the men from the video, and Brooks was among those IDed.

During interviews with law enforcement, the three suspects said one of them approached the driver’s side of the vehicle and produced a handgun, and another man took the woman’s purse. The three suspects also agreed that Brooks approached the passenger side of the victims’ car and assaulted the man, the affidavit stated.

The Nacogdoches Police Department has not identified the fourth suspect, and the other two men who have been identified have not been arrested yet.
