ALEPPO, SYRIA (CNN) - The Syrian government celebrated a huge victory on Tuesday by taking full control of Aleppo, marking a major point in the country's five-year civil war.

Government forces and their allies now control eastern Aleppo. Rebels have held the location for more than four years.

The Syrian government first reoccupied the city in December 2016, but now controls the city fully.
