Red Cross Volunteers Around The State Get Ready For Emily

Now that Hurricane Emily has wrecked havoc on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, residents along the coast of Southern Texas are waiting to see if they're next.

Red Cross officials have told us that the agency has volunteers from around the state headed to San Antonio, one of five designated hubs for hurricane evacueesin Texas.

"Red Cross has moved cots, blankets, mobile feeding units, emergency response vehicles, volunteers, heater meals, all types of supplies have been moved there so that when it does make landfall they can move in." says Glenna Harkness of the Red Cross Deep East Texas Service Center.

Harkness says that as of right now, there aren't any volunteers from the East Texas area heading down south, but as with any disaster situation that could change.
