Jasper man dies after 1-vehicle rollover wreck on US 96 in Sabine County

SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A one-vehicle rollover wreck on U.S. Highway 96 in Sabine County claimed the life of a 45-year-old Jasper man Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, DPS troopers responded to the crash, which occurred about a mile south of Bronson, at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

The preliminary crash report shows that Christopher Williams was driving a 2008 Nissan passenger car south on US 96 when he crossed the northbound lane, struck a culvert, and rolled over. Williams was ejected from his car, the press release stated.

Williams was taken to the Sabine County Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:41 p.m.

The crash is still under investigation.
