BLOOMSBURG, PA (KTRE) - Like the family members of the Lufkin All-Stars, KTRE staffers Caleb Beames and Jeff Awtrey spent the majority of Tuesday making the complicated journey to Pennsylvania.
Like many traveling to The Keystone State, we're not lodging in the Little League host town. We learned that booking a trip to the Little League World Series is more complicated than one to the Major League World Series.
The day began at 3 a.m., as we left Lufkin for the Houston airport. After a 5 a.m. arrival, we boarded a plane at 7 a.m. for a stop in Charlotte, before ending the day of flying in Scranton, Pa. We almost made it fully intact, save for a camera tripod which got lost in luggage but will hopefully be delivered Tuesday night.
A one-hour drive later and we are settled in a hotel in Bloomsburg, Pa.
Some players' family members weren't so fortunate and met plane delays in Houston.
KTRE will provide full coverage of the Little League World Series experience. Follow us on our Facebook page and at KTRE.com and our KTRE mobile app as we strive to bring Williamsport to you.
