WILLIAMSPORT, PA (KTRE) - The Little League World Series is officially underway following the opening ceremony and ceremonial first pitch at Volunteer Stadium.
Sixteen different teams from around the nation and world marched onto the field from left field and walked around the diamond holding their banner.
There were no enemies on the field, as fans cheered on each team with good sportsmanship. The Lufkin fans were seated along the first-base line and parents held signs stating which jersey number their child wore.
On the big screen, representatives from every team spoke a line of the coaches and players pledge of allegiance in their native language. Lufkin Head Coach Bud Maddux gave a line for the coaches pledge and Malcolm Deason Jr. opened the players' pledge.
MLB Hall-of-Famer Eddie Murray threw out the ceremonial first pitch to kick off the World Series.
