ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office served a felony arrest warrant on a man after he allegedly tried to sneak a small plastic baggie containing marijuana in to the county jail Wednesday.
Clayton Emory Williams, 28, of Chireno, is still being held in the Angelina County jail on a third-degree felony prohibited substance in a correction facility charge, a Class C public intoxication charge, and A Class C misdemeanor theft charge. Although no bail amount has been set for the felony charge, his collective bail amount for the two misdemeanor charges was set at $1,000.
According to the offense report, the Lufkin Police Department picked Williams up on a public intoxication charge Wednesday night. After Williams was booked in to the county jail and put in a holding cell, a jailer noticed him lying on the floor and shivering.
When Williams stood up, a small plastic baggie containing marijuana fell to the floor, the report stated. At first, he allegedly tried to hide it, but he eventually handed it over to the jailer.
William's Angelina County arrest record includes numerous drug-related arrests, and it dates back to August of 2007.
