NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

While following up on a shooting incident that occurred on Thursday morning, Nacogdoches police officers went to a home in the 3400 block of Durst Street later that day and found a man with ecstasy, cough syrup, and and marijuana, according to report.

Sgt. Mack McKee with the Nacogdoches Police Department said the shooting incident occurred early Thursday morning. He said the victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound, and when PD officers went to speak to him at the hospital, he wasn't very cooperative with them and gave them minimal details about what had happened.

McKee said the man told Nacogdoches PD officers that he had been shot at the home in the 3400 block of Durst Street, but they are not sure if the shooting actually occurred there or some place else.

Michael Lance Richard, 23, of Nacogdoches, was booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on a Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge Thursday. He posted an unspecified bail amount and was released later that night.

When Nacogdoches PD officers followed up on the shooting incident at about 7:59 p.m. Thursday, they found that the occupant of the home had ecstasy, cough syrup, and marijuana.

The shooting incident is still under investigation, McKee said. Sgt. Brett Ayers said more charges could be pending in the case.
