NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - The Nacogdoches Police Department is investigating a string of burglaries that occurred at businesses in the 800 block of North University Drive sometime between Saturday and Sunday.
After the suspect or suspects broke into the first business, they cut holes in the adjoining walls to access the other businesses.
According to the Nacogdoches Police Department's daily activity report, the burglaries occurred at World Finance Loans, Express Employment, Gold Star Finance, Angelina Check Express, and Fantasy Nails sometime between midnight Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Charges will be filed if the suspect or suspects responsible for the burglaries are found, the report stated.
Gabrielle Atherton, a staffing consultant for Express Employment Professionals, said the suspect or suspects entered through one building, probably World Finance, and cut holes in adjoining walls to access the other businesses.
Several stores had nothing missing, which gave the proprietors of the businesses the impression that cash is what the suspect or suspects were after when the broke into the businesses, Atherton said.
The police were notified by a motion alarm, but by then, the damage had already been done.
"It pretty much stinks," Atherton said. "If they want something bad enough, they'll go after it."
