NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - In Nacogdoches, the County Commissioners approved pay raises for themselves and all other elected officials.
"We done it straight across the board from the top to the bottom," said Precinct 1 Commissioner Jerry Don Williamson. "Everybody got a $700 pay increase. We did not pick and choose. It was everyone. We done 100 percent."
Nacogdoches County Commissioners also set a proposed tax rate of 58 cents per 100-dollar valuation.
The tax rate didn't change, but valuations have gone up. This means some taxpayers will pay a higher amount in taxes.
