SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Clean-up efforts for a train derailment that occurred Monday are complete and FM 1279 in San Augustine County has been re-opened.

According to Tx-Dot, FM 1279 was reopened Wednesday morning. Railroad work continues in the area and motorists should continue to use caution.

A 2006 Peterbilt log truck that was traveling west on FM 1279 struck the 46-car moving train and caused it to derail at about 10:18 a.m. Monday, a press release stated. Numerous rail cars, including tankers, overturned. A total of 13 cars derailed and overturned, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety press release.
