According to the press release, NCSO deputes were dispatched to County Road 914 at about 9 a.m. Thursday in reference to a shooting incident that had just occurred. When they got to the scene, they found that the victim had been shot once in the stomach with a .22-caliber pistol, the press release stated.

The man was transported to an area hospital, where he underwent surgery and is currently in ICU.

“Investigators arrived on scene and found that there had been a total of five shots that were fired and that the victim was struck one time,” the press release stated. “Investigators found that Davis and the victim both have had an ongoing relationship together for several years. They also have a child together.”
