NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Hundreds of items have been dropped off at Drewery Construction in Nacogdoches the day after a story about the company's Harvey relief efforts aired on East Texas News.
The company successfully made its first run last night with supplies to a church in Huffman. Supplies there had run out.
Company employees are on the road again. This time they're serving other locations in need.
"There's a real need, but you know, everything is closed," said Amy Rushing, a volunteer. "Walmarts are closed. Stores are closed, but the people of this community are meeting the needs and they'll be getting it to where it needs to go and I'm thankful for that. The people here."
Drewery Construction will make the drives to Houston on a daily basis.
This specific drop is asking for toiletries, pillows, sleeping bags, and mattress pads.
In additon, Tylenol and Motrin are requested for children who are developing fevers.
