NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office have arrested the 32-year-old sister of the woman accused of shooting her child's father in the stomach in connection to allegations that she made false reports to NCSO detectives.
Sara Nicole Noble, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony making a false report to a police officer-family violence charge. Her bail amount has been set at $7,500.
According to a press release, the investigation into the case stated on Aug. 24, when NCSO deputies were dispatched out to a home on County Road 914 in reference to a shooting that had just occurred.
When the deputies got to the scene, they found a man who had been shot once in the stomach with a .22-caliber pistol. The victim was transported to a Nacogdoches hospital, where he is still in stable condition, the press release stated.
NCSO detectives arrested Jamie Davis, the suspected shooter, and charged her with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon-family violence. Davis, 37, of Nacogdoches, was booked in to the Nacogdoches County Jail on Aug. 24, and she has since been released after she posted an unspecified bail amount.
"Investigators found that Davis shot her boyfriend due to information that she had received from her sister, Sara Noble," the press release stated. "Noble alleged to her sister, that the victim in the case had sexually assaulted a child. Davis gained that information from talking with her sister and then went to the residence and shot the victim."
NCSO detectives conducted three different interviews with Noble, and she claimed she had information that the victim in the shooting incident had sexually assaulted a child.
"Detectives arraigned for a forensic interview of the child to be conducted at the Harold's House and no outcry was made," the press release stated. "Detectives further observed many inconsistent statements in her story. After further investigation, Noble admitted to law enforcement that she had lied and made the whole story up to her sister and to law enforcement."
The press release stated that NCSO detectives got an arrest warrant for Noble on Aug. 29. She turned herself into Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office deputies Tuesday night.
