18-wheeler wreck involving lost load of wood shuts down Hwy 259 in Mt. Enterprise

MOUNT ENTERPRISE, TX (KTRE) -

A wreck involving an 18-wheeler that lost a load of wood has a major highway between Rusk County and Nacogdoches County shut down.

According to authorities, around 4 a.m. Friday, an 18-wheeler hauling 2x4's lost its load on U.S. Highway 259 south of U.S. Highway 84 in Mount Enterprise.

After the initial wreck, at least two other trucks struck the wood causing more wrecks in the back-up.

Traffic on Highway 259 at Highway 84 is completely shut down at 6:50 a.m. for crews to continue clean up in the area. As of 11:20 a.m., one lane was open on each side.
