One person was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment of injuries after a three-vehicle wreck that occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and FM 1818 at about 9:12 a.m. Tuesday.
According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the preliminary crash investigations shows that a northbound 2013 Toyota struck a 2012 Dodge pickup from behind as the truck was turning left onto FM 1818. After the initial collision, the Dodge pickup hit a 2016 Honda SUV that was traveling south on Highway 69.
"The driver of the Toyota was airlifted from the scene by helicopter and transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries," the press release stated. "The identification of the driver is not available for release pending notification of their next of kin."
The drivers of the Dodge pickup and the Honda SUV were not injured in the case, the press release stated.
"Prepare for delays as first responders work to clear lanes of traffic," said Rhonda Oaks, a spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Transportation.
