NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 19-year-old woman Tuesday in connection to allegations that she tried to set her apartment on fire.

Keyaira Natasha Roberts, of Nacogdoches, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a first-degree arson with intent to damage habitat or place or residence. No bail amount has been set for her charge.

According to the arrest affidavit, a Nacogdoches PD sergeant responded to the Riverside Park apartment complex located at 315 Ellington Street on Tuesday to follow up on a complaint from the manager of the apartment complex.

During routine operations, maintenance workers at the apartment complex noticed a large amount of smoke coming from Unit 208. When they made contact with Roberts, the only occupant of the apartment at the time, they learned that a shirt and a towel had been set on fire, the affidavit stated.

The Nacogdoches fire marshal was called out to the scene, and he found that items in the apartment had deliberately been set on fire.
