East Texans Honor Lufkin Community Leader

An East Texas community remembered a long time leader who was killed this week in a car crash.

It was standing room only for a memorial service to honor James Camp. Fifty-eight year-old Camp was executive director of CASA in the Pines.

Hundreds of friends, colleagues, and family members packed the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Thursday to pay their respects to the longtime children's advocate.

Camp was heading south on FM 324 in Angelina County when an 18-wheeler crossed into his lane and smashed into his vehicle.
