Owens Corning plant relocating to Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) -

Another business that already calls Wichita Falls home is expanding by relocating one of its plants to Texoma.

Owens Corning is shutting down a plant in Brunswick, Maine and transferring machinery and production, used to make technical fabrics, to the existing plant in Randy Ln.

The Brunswick plant employs 60 people and will shut down by the end of the year.

Todd Romain a representative for the company said those employees "will not be relocated to Wichita Falls."

He said the reason the plant is shutting down is that of "the need to eliminate non-value-added logistics expenses associated with the cross-country transport of input materials and finished goods to customers."

Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce CEO Henry Florsheim said the commerce is expected to meet with the company on Monday.
