TXDOT Hosts I-69 Meeting

The future of a major highway project in Texas remains a concern for many East Texans.

Tuesday night they got a chance to learn more about plans for I-69.  TXDOT is getting input from people around the state by hosting public meetings.

Folks in Lufkin got to ask questions about I-69 and the proposed Trans-Texas Corridor.

Among their biggest concerns... how is the project going to effect where they live?

Ground won't be broken on the project anytime soon.  The first phase of the corridor study is expected to be completed either in late 2006 or early 2007.

That's when they'll start environmental studies. It could be at least ten years before any construction will start.
