Driving through downtown Lufkin may have been a real adventure.
Construction workers have been busy fixing a major waterline that ruptured Tuesday.
The city has had a lot of problems with the same waterline in the past. City leaders have been talking about Elmira the line for a while now. They were going to wait, but now, they have decided it is a good time to get rid of it.
Keith Wright, the assistant city manager of public works, said, "Since the line busted and we had already dug the road up, we thought, well, we need to do this right now. We've already inconvenienced everybody, it will be more of an inconvenience as far as time, but we won't have to come back and do it later."
