Sheriff's office searching river for gun in connection to double murder

WACO, TX (KXXV) -

McLennan County Sheriff's Office said they are searching the Brazos River for a gun used in connection with the murder of a woman and her infant child at Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir Park #3 on Nov. 5. 

Christopher Weiss, the father of the 1-year-old girl, was arrested for the murder on Nov. 7.

Police started the search Tuesday morning and plan to be searching for days. TxDPS Dive team, Texas Rangers and Game Wardens are assisting with the search. 

Police said they are searching a large area of the Brazos River, on the south side of Loop 340.
