TYLER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - A 41-year-old Ivanhoe woman died Sunday after she was found unresponsive in her cell at the Tyler County Jail.
Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford said in a press release that the Texas Rangers are investigating the death of Amie Coon, 41. He said Coon was found unresponsive in her cell at the Tyler County Jail Sunday night. Jail staff, TCSO deputies and Woodville Police Department officers administered CPR on Coon until EMS personnel arrived, the press release stated.
Tyler County Justice of the Peace Ford pronounced Coon dead at the jail later that day, the press release stated.
"A autopsy will be performed in Beaumont later this week to determine the cause and manner of death," the press release stated.
According to the press release, Coon was being held on injury to a child, injury to the elderly, and assault-family violence charges. She also had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Sabine County for possession of a controlled substance.
