Police Still Looking For Polk County Escapee

by Jessica Cervantez

Polk County authorities are still looking for an escapee, and, now, they have doubled the reward for anyone providing information about 30-year-old Robert Briggs.

He escaped their custody, shortly after being sentenced to 20-years in prison last week. Investigators believe he may be in Walker County, where he has family.

The escape happened last Monday, when authorities unlocked his handcuffs so Briggs could go to the restroom at the Polk County courthouse in Livingston. When he came out, officers were unable to cuff him again, and Briggs got away.

He was convicted on drug charges.

At this point, authorities consider him armed and dangerous.

There is now a $1,000 reward, if you can help authorities find him.
