JASPER, TX (KTRE) - A Jasper County grand jury has indicted the county tax-assessor collector on charges related to his duties as an elected official.
Bobby Wayne Biscamp, 67, is charged with third-degree theft by public servant and state-jail felony securing execution of a document by deception.
According to the text of the indictment, which was filed Wednesday, Biscamp is accused of obtaining money from his office by "submitting documentation to each entity for the same expenses OR obtaining money by creating a false impression of fact by requesting reimbursements for expenses already paid for utilizing the Jasper County, Texas credit card" between the dates of Jan. 11, 2013, and May 7, 2014. He is accused of taking more than $1,500 but less than $20,000.
He is also accused of requesting reimbursement for travel expenses which were already paid by Jasper County.
