Award Goes To Boy Who Helped Catch Robbers

by Jessica Cervantez

Back in February, a simple phone call to 911 led to the arrest of four East Texans connected to bank robberies. The mother and son responsible for the call were given a special award.

Hilaria Rosales and her son, Luis, were in the parking lot of a Lufkin bank when they saw a robbery taking place. Luis noticed the bank robbers first and urged his mother to call 911.

Now, they have received an award only given to a few people in the state. Authorities hope their actions will encourage more people to report crimes.
