Escaped Convict's Girlfriend Arraigned

A woman accused of helping her boyfriend hide from authorities after he escaped their custody was arraigned Wednesday.

Casonya Petties is charged with hindering apprehension and prosecution of a known felon.

Robert Briggs, Jr. escaped custody in Livingston just after he was sentenced to 20 years in prison on drug charges. The escape happened at the Polk County Courthouse two weeks ago after authorities unlocked his handcuffs so he could go to the rest room.

A Crimestoppers tip led to his girlfriend's home in Diboll Tuesday morning.
