David: More storms coming

High pressure will move into Texas and allow disturbances to drop into the Gulf Coast on Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Thursday. Some of the storms will be strong with heavy rain. It will continue to be hot with some spots reaching the middle 90s before any storms arrive.

By the weekend, a possible heat wave will impact Southeast Louisiana. Temperatures will soar into the middle and upper 90s with some spots actually reaching 100 degrees especially north and west of the lake. Overnight lows will stay at or above 80 degrees in urban areas.

There will be a threat for a few late day storms dropping from north to south over the weekend and early next week.

There are no tropical systems threatening the Gulf of Mexico at this time.
