Troy University's chief photographer, Kevin Glackmeyer, died Tuesday after a battle with cancer, the university said in a statement.

According to university spokesman Clif Lusk, Glackmeyer had been in a "tough fight" with the disease for 10 months.

If you've been to any Troy University football game the last decade, there's a good chance you've noticed Glackmeyer walking the sidelines and end zones with his many cameras. But it wasn't just football games he shot.

"We're really a family at the university. Kevin's work touched every facet of the university," Lusk said. "If there's one person on staff that sees everything, the whole university, it's the photographers and Kevin's work was immaculate and left a mark in the history of the university, but his personality left a legacy for others. He made an indelible mark on the university and everyone who ever got to work with or experience Kevin."

Glackmeyer, 61, was a graduate of the 1974 class at Jefferson Davis High School. He previously worked in the governor's office until his leave in 2005. Glackmeyer officially started at Troy in 2006.

GoFundMe page that had been set up initially to help pay for medical expenses is now accepting any donations, which will be used to help pay for funeral costs.?
