Jail Contends With Drippy Pipes

Serious plumbing problems in the Nacogdoches County Jail are not only inconvenient, but they also get in the way of a perfect score from the Jail Standards Commission. The pipes are corroding.

Dripping water can be seen in some places. Some faucets are completely blocked by the corrosion. All this is caused by the way different metals are reacting to one another.

Tuesday, county commissioners authorized a repair job. All the pipes will be replaced over a four month period. Total cost is over $400,000. Work will get started in about two weeks.
