Stolen Tools Won't Delay Construction

A construction crew wants to know who stole their tools from a work site in Lufkin. Sometime Tuesday night, a thief entered the area behind the Lufkin Mall and stole several tools, including three chop saws, a ladder, wheelbarrow, and some equipment out of a toolbox. Police believe the suspect may be headed to a pawn shop with the items.

Workers are disappointed by the theft, but it hasn't slowed them down one bit. Dwayne Green of Maury's Dry Wall Systems said, "We're just trying to get everything secured. We've got the doors secured, where they can't just come in, and we're getting ready to open pretty soon."

Carmike Cinemas is using the space to add five more screens to the movie theater inside the Lufkin Mall. Construction should be finished sometime next month.
