JASPER COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested a Jasper County couple on Jan. 26 in connection to allegations that they were distributing pornographic photos of their 2-year-old daughter, according to the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.
Jasper County Sheriff Mitchel Newman said in a press release that the ICE agents conducted an undercover sting operation to investigate the distribution of child pornography. He said that the couple had been distributing pornographic photos of their 2-year-old daughter.
According to the press release, the Jasper County Sheriff's Office obtained an arrest warrant for the mother for aggravated sexual assault of a child. The woman is currently in custody at the Federal Holding Facility in Beaumont, the press release stated.
A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement declined to comment on the case Tuesday.
"The arrests are part of an ongoing enforcement action, and no further information is available at this time," said Leticia Zamarripa, a spokeswoman for ICE.
A story that appeared on KJAS.com stated that the couple is accused of distributing child porn from their home on FM 11005 in the Zion Hill community.
The press release did not identify the man and the woman, nor did it list their charges.
