POLK COUNTY, TX (News Release) - A Polk County jury found Jeremy Antawain Jackson guilty of aggravated sexual assault of a child.  The now 6-year-old victim testified before the jury regarding the sexual assault.  Kirsti Reese, a therapist at Childrenz Haven, the Polk County Children’s Advocacy Center, testified that the victim was receiving therapy by her through that organization. Ms. Reese identified a picture that the victim had drawn during a recent therapy session that depicted what had happened to her during the sexual assault. The victim then explained to the jury what was depicted in her drawing.

After the jury found Jackson guilty, Kaycee Jones, Judge of the 411th District Court, sentenced him to life in prison. Jackson must serve 30 years before he is eligible for parole.

At the time of the sexual assault, Jackson was on community supervision for the offense of evading arrest with a motor vehicle. Judge Jones revoked that community supervision and sentenced Jackson to the maximum of ten years. The sentences will run concurrently.
