CPS Law Enforcement Officers Hired

by Jessica Cervantez

Newly hired law enforcement officers should help lessen the workload for Child Protective Service agents.

Tony Jasso, whose been in law enforcement for more than 12 years, has recently been hired on as a CPS senior investigator for Angelina County. This comes after an initiative from Governor Rick Perry.

The goal is for these officers to be able to focus more time on investigations, because there's so many cases, and not enough investigators.

Jasso said it's a great opportunity to be able to work with CPS this closely.

The plan would hire 430 investigators in Texas.
