From Street Rap To Gospel Rap

by Jessica Cervantez

Singing is believing to "The Modern Day Disciples." They are a group that comes from many different backgrounds with many different stories. They sing gospel rap, but they started out singing street rap.

Fred Giles, an artist, said they knew they needed a change and they wanted to praise God.

They sing testimonials about their life, what they have been through and where they are now.

Chris Harrison, who is also a producer and rapper, said, "I rap about a bad marriage I went through. A lot of people have been through rough times and they can relate."

They know rap music is often criticized and they know a lot of people might not relate to gospel rap, but, they hope they can help change that by singing inspiring messages.
