Texas state lawmakers recently ended the latest special session in Austin. They walked away without agreeing to a solid school finance plan.
Senator Todd Staples (R - Palestine), called the disagreement on how to fund public school education both disappointing and frustrating.
"Texas has 22 million individuals; we have over 1,040 different school districts. One size does not fit all," Staples said. "There were various proposals out there that I felt like would have been detrimental to East Texas, and I opposed those, and am glad that they did not become law."
Senator Staples believes legislators are closer than ever to approving a plan to fund public school education.
