An early Wednesday morning drug arrest in Nacogdoches led to the confiscation of a large amount of illegal narcotics. More than six pounds of marijuana and more than 320 grams of cocaine were confiscated. The officers also seized $4,700 in cash and one firearm.
The street value of the seized drugs is about $11,000. Most appeared ready for sale.
Nacogdoches Police Department Public Information Officer Greg Sowell said, "It's actually broken out of the big containers and packaged up for individual sale, so this was what you would think may be a wholesale lot of drugs that have been cut in to the retail size packaging."
Police arrested Mitchell Garrett, 37. He's charged with felony delivery and possession charges, as well as possession of a firearm by a felon. Estella Garrett, 36, also faces drug delivery and possession charges.
