MABANK, TX (KLTV) -

Mabank police are charging a Canton man accused of driving intoxicated in a wreck which killed two Eustace women in December.

Austin Junell, 20, is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter. He was arrested on the charge Wednesday. His bond has not yet been set.

Chief Keith Bradshaw confirmed Junell was arrested after his blood test came back and showed he was intoxicated at the time of the wreck.

According to KLTV news partner The Athens Review, Junell was driving a 2002 Toyota Highlander on Dec. 4 north on County Road 2938 when he tried to cross US 175 and was struck broadside by an 18-wheeler.

Iris Anderson, 17, and Morgan Carroll, 18, were passengers in the vehicle driven by Junell.

Carroll died a day later, according to the Athens Review. Anderson died at the scene.

Carroll is the daughter of Chasidy Newland, who reported to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office on Feb. 2 that Amanda Mitchell had set up a GoFundMe account in which Newland would be the beneficiary, in order to pay for funeral expenses for Carroll. She reported Mitchell only gave her $800 of $3,626.17 that had been raised.

Mitchell was arrested in February on a charge of misapplication of fiduciary property. She posted a $10,000 bond on Feb. 28.
