JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Nearly 100 Arkansas State University students and faculty members walked together Tuesday to raise awareness about sexual assault.

Those that participated hope that it will open communication about the topic to keep everyone safe.

"It's imperative that the school get involved in this kind of situation and get support from all of the students," said sophomore Hayley Scott. "Because it's imperative that these victims see the support from the school and are free to speak up and feel safe and comfortable in their school environment."

Set up along the path were fact sheets about sexual assault to provide people with important information.
