Lufkin Mall Assists With Hurricane Relief Efforts

Lufkin Mall is accepting donations for the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army Hurricane Relief Funds.  Everyone is encouraged to help our neighbors in Louisiana and Mississippi by donating to these funds.  Checks and money orders can be made payable to your choice of the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army and designate the funds to go to “Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund.”

“In addition to these monetary donations, we are collecting personal items and baby items for evacuees who have to stay longer in the Lufkin area,” states Sherri Ziegenhals, Lufkin Mall’s Marketing Manager.   Some of these items include diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, toothpaste, toothbrushes, bath soap, deodorant, hygiene products, disposable razors, shampoo, and the list goes on.  “These items will be given to the Salvation Army for distribution,” Ms. Ziegenhals said.

The Blood Center of East Texas will be at Lufkin Mall on the following days and at the following times.  Those who stop by to donate will be able to register to win mall gift certificates.
