Peavy Switch Closes Door, Opens Another

by Jessica Cervantez

As a drug and alcohol recovery center in Angelina County is forced to close one door, they are now opening another.

21-year-old Jennifer Williams was a patient at Peavy Switch, who benefited from their program. But because of lack of funding, it will now no longer run a residential program. That means she was forced to move out.

But, good news, they will still provide outside patient services. Also, they will now provide a half-way house, which directors say is much needed in East Texas.

Women who are 18-years and older, who can hold a job, and who are going through a treatment program can be eligible. It will house 50 patients. Already, they have been screening applicants, and patients will move in as soon as Friday.
